KICKSTARTER/DRIVE PULLEY/DRIVEN PULLEY/CLUTCH
KICKSTARTER
DISASSEMBLY
Remove the belt case cover (page 9-5).
Remove the kickstarter driven gear while turning
the kickstarter pedal.
When
disassembling,
mark the pedal
position to ensure
that it reinstalled in
the original location.
Remove the bolt and kickstarter pedal.
MARK
Release the hook end of the return spring from the
belt case cover.
Remove the snap ring and washer.
TOOL:
Snap ring pliers

Remove the kickstarter spindle, return spring, collar
and spindle bushing.
INSPECTION
Check the kickstarter spindle and spindle gear for
wear or damage.
Check the return spring for fatigue or damage.
Check the collar and bushing for wear or damage.
