19.2.7 Auto and Manual Sensor Check
The sensor check measures the exact impedance of each individual electrode to ensure BIS is
correctly monitored.
NOTE: The sensor check measurement will interfere with the EEG waveform.
Auto Sensor Check: the sensor check is automatically initiated when a sensor is connected, and stops
automatically if the impedances of all electrodes are within the valid range.
NOTE: The Auto Sensor Check is initiated each time the BIS sensor is
connected to the BIS module.
Manual Sensor Check:
• Press the button on the BIS module to manually start/stop a sensor check.
• Access the Sensor tab to manually start and stop a sensor check as follows:
1. Select the BIS digital tile.
2. Select the Sensor tab.
The Sensor dialog displays (as shown in FIGURE 19-6).

3. Select the Check Sensor button to start the sensor check.
The Sensor dialog consists of the First Line Message Area, Sensor Graph View, and Sensor Status
View (as shown in FIGURE 19-6).
The First Line Message Area displays the following prompt messages while checking sensor:
• Check SQI Level, Check SQI L Level, or Check SQI R Level
•Ground Check In Progress
