Air Valve lnstallation

you perform
the following
reassembly steps. You can also
use the actuator
parts
list illustration at
the end of this section.
1. Apply
SP
pump
lubricating
oil to the spool lands. Refer to Actuator
Parts Listtor the oil
part
number.
2.
Carefully
insert
the spool into the sleeve and
center it
in
the sleeve
NOTE: The
spool and sleeve are a matched set
and cannot be
replaced with components from
another air valve assembly.
3.
lnstallthe
retaining screw. Tighten
to 0.7-0.9 N.m
(6-8
in.-lb).
4. Make
sure the spool slides freely in
its sleeve. lf not, replace the air
valve
and
go
to step
5.
5. Apply high-temperature lubricant
to a new set of
O-rings and
install
the
O-rings
on the
sleeve.

the air valve into the valve body from the
top by
pushing
down on the flange.

7. lnstall
a new bumper assembly
on top of the
air
valve
8. Use a wrench to
hold the bumper
assembly
flats
and tighten the
retaining nut. Tighten
to 9-11 N.m
(81-99
in.-lb).
