CRANKCASE ASSEMBLY
Before installing the transmission parts, inspect the 011 pump
drive sprocket fo r wear or damage. Replace if necessary.
Assemble the gearshift drum, countershaft and mainshan and
in stall them together in the right c rank case.
Tu rn the mainshaft by hand to make s ure the gears rotate free-
I ,.
TRANSMISSION/CRANKSHAFT
COUNTEASHAFT
Apply clean engine oil to the crankshaft and install it in the II I CF'AIN~", I AIFT
crankcase.
Install the dowel pins and a new gasket .
Assemble the right and left c rank case halves wh i le turning the
coun ter s haft so as not to damage the counte r shaft oil seal lips.
NOTE
Make sure that the gasket stays in place during this opera -
tion.
