Screw in the breaker arm compressor bolt to break. the bead
from the tire.
If the rest of the bead cannot be pushed down into the center
of the rim , r emove and reposition the comp ressor and arm 1/8
to 1/4 the circumference of the rim. Tighten the compressor
bolt to break the bead. Repeat this procedure as necessary
until the r emainder of the bead can be pushed down into the
center of the rim.
If the bead breaking is difficult with the narrow end (A side) of
th e breaker arm, use the wide end IB side) of the arm and
repeat
the procedure above .
Remove
the four rim bois and separate the rim halves from the
tire.
TIRE REPAIR
NOTE
Use the manufacturer 's instructions fo r the tire repair kit
yo u afe using. If your kit does not have instructions, use the
procedures provided here .
Check the tire for puncturing objects. Cha lk mark the punc -
tu red area and r emove the puncturing object .
Inspect and measure the i njury . Tire repairs for injuries larger
than 15 mm 15 /8 in) should be a section repair. Section repairs
shou
ld be done by a professional t ir e r epair shop.
If the injury is smaller than 15 mm (5/8 in l, proceed with the
repair as described here.
Install a rubber plug into the injury as follows :
App ly cement to a plug inserting needle and wo rk the needle
into the inju ry to clean and lubricate it . Do t h is three times . Do
not let the cement dry.
Insert and
center a rubber plug th rou gh the eye of th e inserting
needle.
App ly cement to the r ubber plug.
Push the inserting needle with plug into the in ju ry until the plug
is slig htl y above the tire . TWist the needle and r emove it from
the ti re, the plug wi ll stay in the tire.
NOTE
Be careful not to push the plug all the way into the tire to
prevent it from fa lling inside.
