Measure the valve seat.
SERVICE LIMIT: 1 .6 mm (0. 0 6 inl
If the seat is too w i de , too narrow, or has l ow spots, it must be
refaced to seal properly .

Use a 45° cutter to re m ove any roughness or irregularities
fr
om seat.
NO TE
Reface the seat with a 45° cutter when the valve guide is
r ep laced.
Use a 32°cutter to remove 1/4 of the existing valve seat ma te·
rial.
NOTE
Follow the inst r uctions supplied with the Valve Seat
Refaclng
E quipment .
Use a
60° cutter to remove the lower 1/4 of the old seat.
R
emove the cutter and inspect the area you have just cut.
Instal! a 4 5° finish cutter and cut the seat to the proper width .
NOTE
Make sure that a ll pitting and irregular ities are r emoved.
Refinish if necessary.
