NOTE:
For best lapping results, lightly tap the valve
seat while rotating the valve back and forth
between your hand.
zApply a fine lapping compound to the valve
face and repeat the above steps.
NOTE:
Make sure to clean off all compound from the
valve face and valve seat after every lapping
operation.
zApply Mechanic’s blueing dye (Dykem) ○

the valve face.
zInstall the valve into the cylinder head.
zPress the valve through the valve guide and
onto the valve seat to make a clear pattern.
zMeasure the valve seat with ○

again.

INSTALLATION
1. Deburr:
zValve stem end
Use an oilstone to smooth the stem end.
2. Apply:
zMolybdenum disulfide oil
(onto the valve steme and oil seal d )
Molybdenum disulfide oil
3. Install:
zValve spring seat c
zValve stem sealdNEW
zValve e
(into the cylinder head)
zValve spring (under) f
zValve spring (outer) g
zSpring retainer h
NOTE:
Install the valve spring with the larger pitch ○
a
facing upwards.
