1 DGC6XXX Drain Faults Out-of-the-Box
You may encounter drain faults (F10, F11) when first operating or
commissioning a DGC 68XX combi-steam cooker. To remedy this fault,
service is required, but no spare parts are needed.
Drainage is controlled by a valve called a pinch valve. This valve controller
internally squeezes a hose to cut off the flow of water. While the appliance is
in storage, the valve is in the closed position. The hose develops a bit of
shape memory and remains pinched shut even when the actuator releases its
grip on the hose.
Once the pinched hose is released manually, it will start to work properly
afterwards. Here is the procedure to unbind the hose:
Remove the top, rear & side panels
Undo the hose clamp just beneath the steam generator
Carefully pull the drain hose down through the pinch valve body – if
the hose seems stuck, you may have to change the state of the pinch
valve (M29) using service mode or MDU5.
Observe the dented or pinched area
Reshape the hose with your fingers
Re-assemble & test for proper operation (be sure the ridge on the
hose goes into the groove in the valve body)
