2 Function
2.1 Feed Pump
The pump for filling the steam generator is a reciprocating 240V pump.
The pump flow rate is 180mL per minute. To reduce noise levels, the pump is
installed in a rubber holder. This prevents noise transfer to the casing.
If there is no water in the pump (new machine or after a long period without
use), the noise level is higher than when the pump is filled with water. The
appliance must not be connected to a hot-water supply because the
temperature of the water supplied to the pump must not exceed 95°F.
2.2 Water Intake
Plumbed models are fitted with two inlet valves, which monitor one another
(redundant system). These valves, 1Y63 and 2Y63, will actuate in order to
allow water to flow into the water tank. The water tank is then filled via the
household water pressure. After 10 refills of the water tank the first valve
closes and the second valve opens as a test. This test takes 30 seconds,
during which no water should flow into the tank. After an additional 10 refills
the test will repeat but in reverse, i.e. the second valve will close and the first
valve will open. If water should flow into the tank at any time during either
test, a fault will register.
2.3 Steam Reduction
The hot, moist air from the cavity is passed to the condenser via a hose.
