9.3.5 Replacing a BBU
V CAUTION!
Do not throw battery backup units into the trash can. Batteries must be
disposed of in accordance with local regulations concerning special
waste.

9.3.5.1 Required tools

9.3.5.2 Preliminary steps
Before replacing a BBU, perform the following steps:
Ê Shut down the server as described in section "Shutting down the server" on
page 42.
Ê Remove the AC power cord from the cable tie and disconnect it from the
system as described in section "Disconnecting power cord" on page 43.
Ê Bring the server to its horizontal position.
Ê Open the side cover as described in section "Removing the side cover" on
page 45.
9.3.5.3 Removing a BBU from the chassis
Ê Remove the BBU module from the chassis as described in section
"Removing a BBU" on page 179.
