Analog/Digital IC Error Code Display
Active diagnostic trouble codes can be reviewed by
accessing the instrument cluster’s diagnostic display
mode.
The diagnostic display mode is accessible when a trouble
code is
active (MIL illuminated) and when the engine is
running.
1. Keep the engine running, and set the parking brake.
2. With the engine running and the MIL illuminated,
p
ress and release the MODE button to toggle to the
diagnostic display mode. If an error code exists, two
numbers will appear in the display and the MIL will
flash.
3. A set of two numbers will appear in the display.
• The 2-6 digit suspect parameter number (SPN) in
th
e information display area indicates which
component is generating the fault code.
• The 1-2 digit failure mode indicator (FMI) number
in
the odometer area indicate the fault mode, such
as open or short circuit.
4. More than one fault may be active. Press and hold the
MODE
button or MODE switch for two seconds to
toggle to the next active code. Repeat until all codes
are retrieved.
5. Press and release the MODE button to exit this mode.
NOTE: “SPN=” and “FMI=” are not displayed on
sc
reen.

The diagnostic display mode is accessible when a trouble
code is
active (MIL illuminated) and when the engine is

1. Keep the engine running, and set the parking brake.
2. With the engine running and
the MIL illuminated,
press and release the SELECT button or SET switch
to toggle to the diagnostic display mode. When a code
is active, the diagnostic display mode will appear
immediately following the engine hour display.
NOTE: When the diagnostic mode is displayed, the
ch
eck engine MIL will flash and Err will be shown.
3. A set of two numbers will appear in the display
