11 Processors
This section provides information on how to replace the processor and
processor heat sink.
Safety notes
V CAUTION!
● Do not install unsupported processors. For further information on
supported processors, refer to section "Basic procedure" on
page 308.
● Circuit boards and soldered parts of internal options are exposed and
can be damaged by static electricity. Always discharge static build-up
(e.g. by touching a grounded object) before handling electrostatic-
sensitive devices (ESDs)
● Do not touch the circuitry on boards or soldered parts. Hold circuit
boards by their metallic areas or edges.
● When removing or installing the processor, be careful not to touch or
bend the spring contacts on the processor socket.
● Never touch the underside of the processor. Even minor soiling such
as grease from the skin can impair the processor’s operation or
destroy the processor.
