1. Starting the engine
WARNING
T
o avoid personal injury or death:
The operator should not depend solely on the
warning lights, but should always conduct the
routine checks section.
(See MAINTENANCE INTERVALS on page 146)
Make sure that the rear door is securely closed
before starting the engine.
IMPORTANT :
The starter motor consumes large current.
Avoid running it longer than 10 seconds
continuously.
If the engine fails to start within 10 seconds,
follow the following procedure.
1. Make sure that the start switch is in the
“OFF” mode.
2. Wait for 20 seconds or longer.
3. Repeat the following step 2. through step 5..
If the battery is dead and must be connected to
another battery with jumper cable, use a 12 V
battery. Never use any 24 V batteries.
To protect the machine, the machine is
equipped with engine rpm limit control.
When the engine rpm is limited, the master
warning light starts blinking.
Before starting the engine, make sure that the armrests
are in the raised position, the control levers are in their
neutral position, and the seat belt is fastened correctly.

Start the engine in the following manner:
1. Set
the engine speed control dial to the idling
position and keep the accelerator pedal free.
2. Press the start switch to change the mode from the
“OFF” mode to the “ACCESSORY” mode.

The glow-plug-indicator will light up while the
engine
is preheated and will go out automatically
after preheating is finished.
3. Make sure that the
and marks appear on
the instrument panel.
If
not, the system is malfunctioned. Contact your
local KUBOTA dealer.

4. Press
and hold the start switch, and release your
finger after the engine has started.
5. Check if all warning indicators (except the
hydraulic-lock-indicator and the parking-brake-
warning-indicator) have gone out. If a warning
indicator still be lit up, stop the engine and check for
the cause.
NOTE :
If any screen does not appear when
changing the start switch to the
“ACCESSORY” mode, or after starting the
engine, set the start switch to the “OFF”
mode and restart the engine.
