AUTOMATIC DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER (DPF) REGENERATION
Automatic regeneration is a normal maintenance activity that a machine performs automatically.
The
diesel particulate filter (DPF) serves to trap particulate matters (PM) that are contained in exhaust gases and to
automatically burn (DPF-regenerate) these matters. During the regeneration, buzzer sounds and warning lamp blinks
and display shows messages.
The following is an explanation and required operator action.
Warning lamp Display Meaning Required operator action
Blinking
(yellow)
Auto regeneration starts.
Continue operating the machine.
Operate the machine until the warning
lamp stops blinking.
Make sure that no people, animals,
plants and flammable materials are
within the immediate working area.
Blinking
(yellow)
When the message “Increase Engine RPM” ap-
pears on the display
, increase Engine RPM until
the message disappears.
Increase Engine RPM until the engine
rev up indicator goes out. Auto regen-
eration starts.
Operate the machine until the warning
lamp stops blinking.
Make sure that no people, animals,
plants and flammable materials are
within the immediate working area.

Blinking
(yellow)
DPF Regeneration is in progress.
Engine Output is limited to prevent Engine Fail-
ure.
Keep Engine RPM elevated until re-
generation process is complete.
Make sure that no people, animals,
plants and flammable materials are
within the immediate working area.
Blinking
(red)
DPF Regeneration is required immediately. En-
gine Output is limited to prevent Engine Failure.
When the hydraulic system is locked, the engine
will stop after 60 seconds in order to protect DPF
.
When the hydraulic system is unlocked, the en-
gine will not stop while the engine output is limit-
ed.
Increase the Engine RPM until the en-
gine rev up indicator goes out. Auto re-
generation starts.
Make sure that no people, animals,
plants and flammable materials are
within the immediate working area.

If the error still appears, contact your
local dealer
.
Blinking
(red)
To protect the DPF, the engine stopped automati-
cally
.
Restart the engine and raise its speed
until the machine starts DPF regenera-
tion.
Unless the auto regeneration starts,
consult your local Kubota dealer.
Blinking
(red)
DPF must be repaired.
T
o protect the DPF, the engine output is limited.
When the hydraulic system is locked, the engine
will stop after 60 seconds in order to protect DPF.
When the hydraulic system is unlocked, the en-
gine will not stop while the engine output is limit-
ed.
Immediately contact your local Kubota
dealer.

Exchange the DPF. To protect the DPF, the en-
gine output is limited.

NOTE :
Stopping the engine or pressing the inhibit switch during the automatic regeneration cycle stops the
automatic regeneration process.
After restarting the engine, automatic regeneration starts.
