Damage/wear → Replace the gear.
8. Check:
• Bushing
• Bearing
• Oil seal
Damage/wear → Replace the defective
part(s).

ASSEMBLING THE STARTER MOTOR
1. Install:
• Brush seat “1”
IP
Align the tab “a” on the brush seat with the slot
“b” in the starter motor yoke.
2. Install:
• Starter motor yoke
• Starter motor front cover
• Starter motor rear cover
IP
Align the match marks “a” on the starter motor
yoke with the match marks “b” on the front and
starter motor rear covers.
Brush spring force
7.65–10.01 N (780–1021 gf,
27.54–36.03 oz)
