TROUBLESHOOTING
• In case the ECM detects the abnormal rising of engine coolant temperature, ECM turns on or blinks the MIL (Malfunc-
tion Indicator Lamp).Check the engine temperature before troubleshooting the ECT sensor (page 7-6).
Engine temperature too high
• Faulty radiator cap
• Insufficient coolant
• Passage blocked in radiator, hoses or water jacket
• Air in system
• Faulty water pump
• Thermostat stuck closed
Engine temperature too low
• Thermostat stuck open
Coolant leak
• Deteriorated O-rings
• Faulty radiator cap
• Damaged or deteriorated cylinder head gasket
• Loose hose connection or clamp
• Damaged or deteriorated hoses
• Faulty water pump mechanical seal
