Once the tape has been removed from the tape path, remove the cartridge from the tape
drive.
See Figure 5-7.
1. Locate the lock release tab and the cassette loading gear. The lock release tab is white.
2. Use your finger to gently press down and release the lock release tab.
3. Use your thumb to gently roll the cassette loading gear toward the front of the tape drive
until
the rear of the cartridge slides out of the tape drive.
4.
Pull the cartridge all the way out of the tape drive.
5. Visually inspect the tape heads for moisture or foreign matter. The tape heads are on the
rotating drum.
