Configuring Call Home
The Call Home feature enables you to configure switches to send alerts and
events to pagers and email. You can configure the types of events to cover and
where to send the alerts using the Call Home Setup dialog box (Figure 5-29). To
view the Call Home Setup dialog box:
1. Select a switch in the fabric tree.
2. On the Switch menu, click Call Home and click Setup.

Table 5-15 describes the fields on the Call Home Setup dialog box.

Field Description
Primary SMTP:
(active)
(active) indicates that the Primary SMTP (Simple Mail
Transfer Protocol) is the SMTP server that Call Home uses
when transmitting email messages. Call Home operates as an
SMTP sending agent.
After any system configuration, the Primary SMTP server
becomes the active SMTP server, if it is enabled and has a
non-default address defined (0.0.0.0 is the default).
