To change the port administrative state:
1. Select a switch in the fabric tree.
2. Select one or more ports in the faceplate display.
3. On the Port menu, click Port Properties to view the Port Properties dialog
box (Figure 6-4).
4. For each port, select an option from the drop-down list in the Configured
State column. To apply the same value for all selected ports, check the
Configured State checkbox at the bottom of the dialog box. Table 6-11
describes the port administrative states.
5. Click OK.
Port Speeds
SFP ports with 8Gb SFPs installed can transmit and receive at 2Gbps, 4Gbps, or
8Gbps. XPAK ports can transmit and receive at 10Gbps or 20Gbps. All ports can
be configured for either a fixed transmission speed or to sense (auto-detect) the
transmission speed of the device to which it is connected.
To display the port type status:
1. Select a switch or stack in the fabric tree.
2. On the View menu, click View Port Speeds.
Downed—port is disabled, power is removed from the lasers, and the
port cannot be logged in.

Online Activates and prepares port to send data.
Offline Prevents port from receiving signal and accepting a
device login.
Diagnostics Prepares port for testing and prevents the port from
accepting a device login.
Downed Disables the port.
