Chapter 6 Configure and Start up the Kinetix 5300 Drive System
Configure Induction-motor
Frequency-control Axis
Properties
Follow these steps to configure induction-motor axis properties for various
frequency control methods.
General and Motor Categories
1. In the Controller Organizer, right-click an axis and choose Properties.
2. Select the General category.
The General dialog box appears.
3. From the Axis Configuration pull-down menu, choose Frequency
Control.
4. From the Feedback Configuration pull-down menu, choose No Feedback.
5. From the Module pull-down menu, choose the drive to associate with
your Frequency Control (induction motor) axis.
The Module Type and Power Structure fields populate with the chosen
drive catalog number.
6. Click Apply.
7. Select the Motor category.
8. From the Data Source pull-down menu, choose Nameplate Datasheet.
This is the default setting.
Refer to Motor Nameplate Datasheet Entry for Custom Motor Applications, publication
2198-AT002 to determine which configuration method is best suited for your
application.
