11.11.1 Basic seng
The following parameters must be set for the acvaon and basic seng of the holding brake
control.
When a power contactor is used, the response me and release me of the con-
tactor are added to the brake applicaon and release me. Both mes must also
be taken into consideraon for parameterising the brake applicaon me and
brake opening me!

Selecng how the "Release holding brake" command is to be triggered.
0 Automacally (via device state) "Automac operaon": The "Release holding brake" command is auto-
macally carried out as a funcon of the device state and further condi-
ons.
CAUTION!
Also in the automac operaon, a manual release of the holding brake is
possible! For details see the following informaon for selecon "Man-
ually [1]".
1 Manually The "Release holding brake" command can also be iniated by the fol-
lowing external triggers:
Via the trigger assigned to the "Release holding brake" funcon in
0x2631:049 (P400.49) if the network control is not acve.
Via bit 14 in the CiA 402 control word 0x6040 if the network control is
acve.
CAUTION!
The manually triggered "Release holding brake" command has a direct
impact on the "Release holding brake [115]" trigger. Thus, the holding
brake can be manually released if the power secon is switched o!
The responsibility for a manual release of the holding brake has the
external trigger source for the "Release holding brake" command!
