5-1-7. Cleaning of encoder strip
(1) Select the [Output Check] from the Advanced menu and select the [Carriage Test] > [To Center]. Press and hold
down the power button to power off.
<IMPORTANT>
ï‚· Please complete the task within 30 minutes, in order to prevent the print heads from drying up.
Long-hour continuation of a head without capping may lead to non-ejection of ink-jet droplets.
(2) Open the top cover of the main unit and remove the three screws of the encoder cover F to detach it.
(3) Moisten a waste cloth (non-fuzzy cloth) with a small amount of alcohol, and use such cloth to wipe clean the
encoder strip.
<CAUTION>
ï‚· Be sure not to disengage the encoder strip while cleaning.
Re-attach strip upon reference to "6-1-17. Replacement of encoder strip" in case the strip is disengaged in the process.
