2. Check the fuel quick connect fitting

for dirt, and
clean
if necessary.
Place a shop towel [2] over the quick connect fitting .
3.
Pull
and
release
the
connector damper

from
the

retainer.
4. Hold the connector

with one hand and squeeze
the retainer

tabs with the other hand to release
Ihem from the locking pawls [4] .
If using the special tool:
Pull
and release the connector damper

retainer as shown.
Set the special

to
the
retainer tabs and
push
and
release them from the locking pawls.

Pull the connector off, then remove the relainer and
connector damper from the pipe end.
NOTE
:
Absorb the remaining fuel in the fuel feed hose from
Howing out with a shop towel.
Be careful not to damage the hose
or
other parts.
Use the specified special tool
only
.
If the connector does not move, keep the retainer
tabs pressed down, and
alternately pull and push
the connector until it comes
off
easily.
5. To prevent damage and keep foreign matter
oul.
cover the disconnected connector and pipe end with
the plastic bags
[1].
