Chapter 3 Mount the Kinetix 5500 Drive System
Single-axis Configurations
The following restrictions exist for standalone (single-axis) configurations:
• Standalone (single-axis) drives can be mounted to the panel individually
or by using the zero-stack tab and cutout (refer to Figure 23 on page 47
)
• The shared-bus connection system does not apply and must not be used
For a single-axis example configuration, refer to Standalone Configurations
on page 15.
Multi-axis Configurations
Each multi-axis configuration has restrictions that apply:
• The shared-bus connection system must be used. Do not attach discrete
wires from drive-to-drive.
• The maximum number of drives in Shared AC bus power-sharing groups
cannot exceed 5.
• The maximum number of drives in any other bus power-sharing group
cannot exceed 8.
For a multi-axis example configuration, refer to Shared AC/DC Hybrid
Configuration on page 19.
