12.2.18 Checking the tightness of fastening bolts
Note
Replace damaged headless bolts with new bolts of the same type and strength class.
Switch o the power supply to the drive unit. Check all fastening bolts for tightness using a
torque wrench.
The general tolerance for the tightening torque in Nm is 10 %. The friction coecient is 0.14 μ.

Check the motor in accordance with the criteria set out in General motor information (Page 447).
Touch up damaged paintwork carefully.
12.2.20 Servicing the brake
12.2.20.1 Wear of the spring-operated brake
The friction lining and the mechanical components of the brake are subject to wear due to their
inherent function. For safe and fault-free operation, the brake must be regularly checked and
adjusted, and if necessary, replaced.
The following table describes the dierent causes of wear and their eects on the spring-
operated brake components. The important inuencing factors have to be quantied in
order to calculate the service life of the rotor and the brake and determine the stipulated
