REMOVAL

1. Remove:

 Ring nut (lower)

Use the ring nut wrench

Ring nut wrench:

90890-01403

Support the lower bracket so that it may not

fall down.

INSPECTION

1. Wash the bearing and bearing races with a sol-

vent.

2. Inspect:

 Bearings

 Bearing races

Pitting/Damage  Replace.

Bearing race replacement steps:

 Remove the bearing races on the head pipe us-

ing long rod

1 and the hammer as shown.

 Install the new races.

Always replace bearings and races as a set.

If the bearing race is not fitted squarely, the

head pipe could be damaged.
