VALVE CLEARANCE ADJUSTMENT

NOTE:

ENGINE

VALVE CLEARANCE ADJUSTMENT

 The valve clearance should be adjusted when

the engine is cool to touch.

 The piston must be at Top Dead Center (T.D.C.)

on compression stroke to check or adjust the

valve clearance.

1. Remove:

 Side cowling

 Seat

 Side cover

 Fuel tank

Refer to “COWLINGS, SEAT, TAIL COVER

AND FUEL TANK”.

 Air filter case

Refer to “AIR FILTER CASE”.

2. Drain:

 Coolant

Refer to “COOLANT REPLACEMENT”.

3. Disconnect:

 Hose 2

 Hose 3

 Coolant reservoir hose

(from radiator side)

 Fan motor lead coupler

4. Remove:

 Radiator
