INSTALLATION
1. Tighten:
 Ring nuts (lower and upper)
Tightening steps:
 Tighten the ring nut (lower)
1 using the ring nut
wrench

Ring nut:
48 Nm (4.8 mkg)
Set the torque wrench to the ring nut wrench so
that they form a right angle.
Ring nut wrench:
90890-01403
 Turn the steering stem left and right for several
times.
 Loosen the ring nut completely and retighten it to
specification.
Ring nut:
16 Nm (1.6 mkg)
Do not overtighten.
 Check the steering stem by turning lock to lock. If
there is any binding, remove the steering stem
assembly and inspect the steering bearings.
 Install the plate washer.
 Install the ring nut (upper).
 Finger tighten the ring nut, then align the slots of
both ring nuts. If not aligned, hold the lower ring
nut and tighten the other until they are aligned.
 Install the special washer.
Make sure that the special washer tab is placed in
the slots.
