14.12.2 Smoothing
Using the smoothing
Smoothing of analog values provides a stable analog signal for further processing.
Smoothing of analog values is useful for slow changes in measured values, e.g. temperature
changes.
Parameters
The measured values are smoothed using a digital 󹪝lter. Smoothing is achieved by the module
averaging a 󹪝xed number of converted (digitized) analog values.
You parameterize the smoothing in a maximum of 4 levels (none, weak, medium, strong). The
level determines the number of analog signals that are used for generating the moving average.
The stronger the smoothing is performed, the more stable the smoothed analog value is and the
longer it takes until the smoothed analog signal is present after a step response (see the example
below).
