CRANKSHAFT, PISTON AND CYLINDER BODY
NOTE:
When measuring the piston diameter,
position the micrometer in relation to the
piston pin hole as shown.
2. Measure:
 Piston pin boss inside diameter
(with a micrometer)
Out of specification
 Replace the
piston.
CALCULATING THE PISTON-TO-
CYLINDER CLEARANCE
Calculate:
 Piston-to-cylinder clearance

piston and piston rings, the cylinder
or both.
CHECKING THE PISTON PIN
Measure:
 Piston pin outside diameter
Out of specification
 Replace the
piston pin.
Piston pin boss inside diameter:
14.004 - 14.015 mm
(0.5513 - 0.5518 in)
Piston-to-cylinder clearance

0.035 - 0.065 mm
