CRANKSHAFT, PISTON AND CYLINDER BODY
INSTALLING THE PISTON AND
CONNECTING ROD
1. Install:
Piston and connecting rod
NOTE:
Install the piston with “UP” mark on the
piston crown facing toward the flywheel
side.
2. Install:
Connecting rod cap
NOTE:
Align the ““ marks on the connecting rod
and cap when installing.
INSTALLING THE OIL SEAL
Install:
Oil seal 1 and 2
CAUTION:
Do not install the oil seals after
tightening the crankcase mounting bolts,
this can damage the oil seals
To prevent the inclined seal installation,
install the oil seals, crankshaft and
crankcase, finger tighten the mounting
bolts then lightly knock the seal.
INSTALLING THE CRANKCASE
Install:
Crankcase
NOTE:
When Gasket Maker
is applied, prevent
it from sticking to the inner surface of the
plain bearing.
Tighten the crankcase mounting bolt in
sequence and two steps of torque.
