Overview
This chapter provides information on how to set up

Preparation before first use
Before first use, Apollo must be prepared in

Charging the battery for emer-
gency operation
Apollo has a built-in uninterruptible power supply
UPS which maintains the power supply for at least 30
minutes (up to 90 minutes, depending on the
ventilation parameters) in the event of a mains power
failure, provided that the battery is fully charged.
Switching to battery power (UPS) takes place
automatically and is indicated on the screen by the
message: POWER FAIL.
The battery recharges automatically when the
anesthesia machine is plugged into the mains, but
only up to a maximum ambient temperature of 95° F/
35° C.
WARNING!
Risk of patient injury
Correct preparation of the anesthesia machine
is required to minimize the general risks
associated with the anesthesia machine.
Use only clean and disinfected parts and always
strictly follow the cleaning and assembly
instructions contained in these Instructions for
Use to prevent infection of patient or user.
