Ifusingpulseoximetryduringfullbodyirradiation,keepthe
sensoroutoftheradiationeld.Ifthesensorisexposedtothe
radiation,thereadingmightbeinaccurateortheinstrument
mightreadzeroforthedurationoftheactiveirradiation
period.

Theinstrumentmustbeconguredtomatchyourlocalpower
linefrequencytoallowforthecancellationofnoiseintroduced
byuorescentlightsandothersources.

Toensurethatalarmlimitsareappropriateforthepatient
beingmonitored,checkthelimitseachtimethepulseoximetry
deviceisused.

Variationinhemoglobinmeasurementsmaybeprofound
andmaybeaffectedbysamplingtechniqueaswellasthe
patient’sphysiologicalconditions.Anyresultsexhibiting
inconsistencywiththepatient’sclinicalstatusshouldbe
repeatedand/orsupplementedwithadditionaltestdata.
Bloodsamplesshouldbeanalyzedbylaboratoryinstruments
priortoclinicaldecisionmakingtocompletelyunderstand
thepatient’scondition.
CAUTION
Donotsubmergethepulseoximetrydeviceinanycleaning
solutionorattempttosterilizebyautoclave,irradiation,steam,
gas,ethyleneoxideoranyothermethod.Thiswillseriously
damagethepulseoximetrydevice.
CAUTION
ElectricalShockHazard:Carryoutperiodicteststoverifythat
leakagecurrentsofpatient-appliedcircuitsandthesystem
arewithinacceptablelimitsasspeciedbytheapplicable
safetystandards.Thesummationofleakagecurrents
mustbecheckedandincompliancewithIEC60601-1and
UL60601-1.Thesystemleakagecurrentmustbechecked
whenconnectingexternalequipmenttothesystem.Whenan
eventsuchasacomponentdropofapproximately1meteror
greateroraspillageofbloodorotherliquidsoccurs,retest
beforefurtheruse.Injurytopersonnelcouldoccur.
