GENIBPdevicesaredesignedforusewithdual-hosecuffs
andtubing.Theuseofsingle-hosecuffswithdualhosetubing
canresultinunreliableandinaccurateNIBPdata.
WARNING
AccuracyofNIBPmeasurementdependsonusingacuffof
thepropersize.Itisessentialtomeasurethecircumferenceof
thelimbandchoosethepropersizecuff.
WARNINGNIBPREADINGSMAYTIMEOUTWHENUSINGIABP.An
IABPcreatesnon-physiologicalarterialwaveforms.These
waveformscreateanoscillometricsignalthatmaynotbe
interpretedbytheNIBPalgorithm,causingNIBPtotimeout.
Thepatient’sinvasivebloodpressurecanbemonitoredfrom
theballoonpumpdevice.
WARNING
TheNIBPcuffsizemustbecorrectlyselectedintheNIBPSetup
windowtoobtainreliableNIBPdataandtopreventexcessive
cuffpressureduringinfantorchilduse.
WARNING
PATIENTSAFETY.AlwaysensurethatyouareusingNIBPinfant
settingswhenmonitoringneonatalpatients.Usingother
settingsmayleadtoriskstothepatientduetowrongalarm
limitsorcuffpressure,forexample.
WARNING
Ifapatient’sbeat-to-beatpulseamplitudevariessignicantly
(e.g.,becauseofpulsusalternans,atrialbrillation,orthe
useofarapid-cyclingarticialventilator),bloodpressure
andpulseratereadingscanbeerratic,andanalternate
measuringmethodshouldbeusedforconrmation.
WARNING
ForSuperSTATNIBP(Adult/Child)only.Ittakesonetothree
minutesfortheNIBPparametertoidentifyanirregularrhythm
afterECGisconnected.Forpatientswithirregularrhythms,
waitthreeminutesafterECGhasbeenconnectedandECG
heartrateispresentonthescreenbeforeperforminganNIBP
determination.
NIBPcautions
CAUTION
TheNIBPdevicesetstheinationpressureautomatically
accordingtothepreviousmeasurement.Resetthecase
ordischargethepatienttoresettheinationlimitsbefore
measuringNIBPonanewpatient.
