Startingandendingmonitoring
withthecurrentpatient’sMRN:,SecondID:,andName:iftheyareavailable.Those
eldsareblankiftheinformationhasnotpreviouslybeenentered.
WhenCARESCAPEONEisusedasanacquisitionmodulewithahostmonitor,thehost
monitorContinuemenuprovidesoptionsforhandlingpatientdatathatmaybestored
intheCARESCAPEONE.Refertothehostmonitoruser’smanualformoreinformation.
TheContinuemenuremainsopenuntilyouselectoneoftheseoptions:
SelectContinueCurrenttocontinuemonitoringthecurrentpatientwiththe
settingsandpatientinformationinthemonitor.
SelectNewPatient(NewCaseinORandPACUsoftwarepackages)todischarge
thecurrentpatientfromthemonitor,deletingallpatientinformationandresetting
themonitortothedefaultvaluesforallsettings,includingalarmlimits.Youcan
thenadmitthenewpatienttothemonitor.
SelectStandbytoreturnthemonitortostandbymode.Thisoptiononlyappears
whenthemonitorhascomeoutofstandbymodeandthereisnopatient
connected.ItisnotpossibletoenterstandbymodeiftheCARESCAPEONEdetects
anyactiveparameterdata.
Aboutstandby
Whenyouremovethepatienttemporarilyfromthemonitor,youcanusethe
standbyoptiontoputthemonitoronstandbyuntilthepatientisreconnectedto
themonitor.Youcanalsousethestandbyoptionbeforeapatientisadmittedto
themonitor/patientcaseisstarted.Congurethecurrentpatientsettingsforthe
incomingpatient,thenputthemonitorinstandbytopreventnuisancealarmsor
automaticdischargeduetomonitorinactivity.
Startingstandby
1.SelectthepatientinformationareaonthescreenorselectPt.Data&Trends>
Admit/DischargeorStart/ResetCase.
2.SelecttheStandbytab.
3.Ifapatientisconnected,selectPrepareforStandbytopauseaudiblealarmsfor2
minutes.Thisallowstimetodisconnectpatientcables.
Ifnopatientisconnected(noCARESCAPEParametersareconnectedtothe
CARESCAPEONE),selectStandbyfromtheStandbytab,andthemonitorwill
immediatelyenterstandby.
4.DisconnectthepatientcablesandcheckthatNIBPAutoisturnedoff.
Ifpatientcablesarestillconnectedandthemonitorreceivesvitalsigns,a
messageindicatingthataudioalarmshavebeenpausedappears.
Ifyoudonotdisconnectthecablesandvitalsignsarestillpresentaftertheaudio
pausetimeexpires,thestandbyiscanceled.Youcanalsocancelthestandby
beforethetimerexpiresbyselectingCancelStandby.
Themonitorwillautomaticallyenterstandbywhenallcablesaredisconnected
andNIBPAutoisturnedoff.ThescreengoesblankandtheGElogowiththe
messageStandbyappears.
