6.15.7 CLEANING MECHANISM
The cleaning roller [A], in constant
contact with the pressure roller [B],
collects toner and paper dust from the
surface of the pressure roller.
Because the cleaning roller is metal, it
can collect adhering matter better than
the pressure roller, which is coated with
Teflon.
Some new design features have been
implemented in order to cope with the
lower temperatures required for new
toner which has a melting temperature
much lower than the previous toner.
The cleaning roller [A] is composed of
an aluminum shell with an internal “heat
pipe” suspended in the middle of the
roller to dissipate heat more rapidly.
