Universal garage
door control
*
The principle
The universal garage door control replaces
up to three hand-held transmitters for
various other systems or devices, e.g. for
opening a gate or garage door, for alarm
systems or for a door locking system. The
universal garage door control identifies and
learns the signals transmitted by the orig-
inal hand-held-transmitters.
The signal from an original hand-held trans-
mitter can be programmed to one of the
three channel buttons. After this, the
programmed channel button will operate
the system in question. Transmission of the
signal is shown by the indicator light.
Before the car is sold, clear the channel
buttons as described on page 108.
During the programming operation
and before a programmed system is
operated remotely with the universal
garage door control, make sure that no
persons, animals or objects are within the
system's range of movement, in order to
avoid possible injury or damage. Comply
also with the safety instructions supplied
with the original hand-held-transmitter.

If this symbol appears on the pack
or in the instructions supplied with
the original hand-held transmitter,
you can assume that it will be compatible
with the universal garage door control.
Compatibility
A list of compatible hand-held transmitters
is available by fax polling on

Checking for alternating code
To check whether the original hand-held
transmitter is equipped with an alternating
code system, either consult the instruc-
tions supplied with it or program a channel
button as described in the next section
under the heading Programming.
After this, hold down the programmed
channel button on the universal garage
door control. If the indicator light on the
universal garage door control flashes
rapidly for two seconds and then remains
on, the original hand-held transmitter uses
an alternating code system. In conjunction
with an alternating code system, program
the channel buttons as described on the
next page under "Programming an alter-
nating-code hand-held transmitter".
