further time to call up the last display again.
However, the displays cannot be closed if
the fuel level has reached the reserve zone
or a Check Control message is displayed.

Fuel gauge
The fuel gauge is displayed automatically
once the reserve level is reached. The word
"Reserve" in addition lights up. There are
approx. 10 litres (2.2 Imp. gal.) of fuel
remaining in the tank.
Once the fuel level has fallen to the
reserve zone, the computer display
can no loner be closed. However, you can
still have the range displayed. Computer,
see page 80.

Fuel tank capacity: approx. 88 litres
(19.4 Imp. gal.)
If the car is at an angle for some time, for
example on a long mountain road, the
display may vary slightly.
Add fuel in good time, to avoid the risk
of running the tank dry and causing
damage to the engine or the catalytic
converter.

Range
This display indicates how far the car can
probably be driven on the fuel remaining in
the tank. The fuel level is measured and the
range calculated on the basis of the way in
which the car has so far been driven. The
average fuel consumption over the last
30 kilometres (approx. 20 miles) serves as
a reference value for this purpose.
If the range is below 50 kilometres (approx.
30 miles), it is imperative to add fuel, other-
wise serious damage could be caused to
the engine or catalytic converter.
The computer registers fuel added to the
tank if the quantity exceeds approx. 5 litres
(approx. 1.1 gal).
Distance to destination
The remaining distance to your destination
is displayed if you have entered a distance
in the navigation system before or have
entered a distance manually in the
computer before the start of your journey,
see page 128 or 82.
The distance to the destination using the
route planned by the navigation system is
automatically used.
If you enter a destination in the navi-
gation system, any manual inputs are
overwritten by the calculated distance after
500 metres (approx. 0.3 miles) at the
latest.
