Press to exit the route list and calcu-
late a new route.
"Avoid route":
You can avoid a particular stretch of the
route measuring up to 30 kilometres
(approx. 20 miles). To do this, turn the
controller to indicate the desired length in
kilometres and confirm this. To exit "Avoid
route" without altering the route, enter
0 kilometres and confirm this input.
If there is traffic congestion along your
route, the navigation system will issue you
with a "last exit" warning shortly before the
congestion.
To avoid the congestion, select "Diversion"
and confirm. A route that takes you round
the congestion is planned.
Voice output
You can suppress the voice output to
ensure, for instance, that news bulletins or
traffic reports are not interrupted by navi-
gation instructions.
During route guidance, press the controller
and select the desired symbol:
To switch voice output on or off
or
>>Message on<< or
>>Message off<<.

To repeat the last direction announce-
ment or last route instruction if voice output
is switched on.
Varying volume
You can adjust the volume for navigation
instructions:
Turn during an instruction, see page 142,
until the desired volume is obtained.
This volume is retained for the spoken navi-
gation instructions even if you set other
audio sources to minimum values.
Ending/interrupting route

Select "Route guide" and confirm
or
1. >>Navigation<<
2. >>Route guidance off<<.

Route guidance and voice output are
ended, or interrupted until switched back
on again.
Creating a destination
memory
You can transfer your current position
to the destination list even if you have
left the area digitised on the map CD. To do
this, you have to enter the name.

Storing addresses
To make input of destinations even easier,
over 50 addresses for destinations that are
frequently used can be stored in the
address book.
Addresses can be entered in various
menus.
The current address is stored in the
address book via "AS ADDRESS".
The first destination in the destination list
can be placed in a separate address book
for the voice input system:
