Inserting the SIM card
Press the button, see arrow.
The SIM card holder can be removed.
Insert the SIM card the correct way round
and push in the SIM card holder until it
engages.
When entering the PIN code, make
sure that a PIN code is not being
entered simultaneously by a rear
passenger, as this would block the PIN
code of the SIM card at the rear.
<
Use only 3.3 V SIM cards. The phone
will not work with other SIM cards.
<
Switching the phone on and off
To switch the telephone on or off,
press this key for longer on either the
handset or the phone board.
Via the voice input system:
>>Telephone on<<.
<
After it has been switched off, the
telephone enters the standby mode;
this results in higher closed-circuit current
consumption.
<
Key lock
If it is not possible to make inputs via your
handset, the key lock is active. This means
that no keys can be accidentally touched
while you are driving.
To switch the key lock on or off,
press for longer.
The key lock is switched on if the
symbol is shown in the standby display.
Approved battery types
Use only batteries of type
SAFT VH1200/1200 mAh or
PANASONIC HHR110AAB/1020 mAh.
Do not use conventional non-
rechargeable batteries. The charger
would still attempt to charge these
batteries, causing them to overheat and
possibly explode.
<
With the batteries fully recharged, the
handset can remain on standby for at least
48 hours and has an air time of at least
three hours.
If the batteries are completely flat or if new
batteries have been inserted, full charging
will take approx. six hours. To charge the
batteries, place the handset in the
EjectBox. The batteries continue to be
charged for 60 minutes after the ignition
has been switched off.
Only remove the batteries if this is
absolutely necessary. The control
function for battery recharging could other-
wise be destroyed, and the battery charge
indicator in the display could in addition be
incorrect.
The handset must be engaged in the rest
for the batteries to be charged. For
purposes of charging, it is irrelevant
whether the keys are facing upwards or
downwards.
Always make sure that the handset is prop-
erly engaged in its rest after using the
phone, to ensure that the batteries are fully
charged.
<
Take old batteries to a collecting point
or hand them in to BMW Service.
