"INITIALISE"
1. Select and confirm
2. RDC is initialised. A message appears in
the Check Control
3. After the car has been driven for a few
minutes, RDC adopts the actual tyre pres-
sures as the reference values to be moni-
tored.
The actual values are shown in the control
display. These values are more accurate
than e.g. readings taken using a pressure
gauge at a filling station.
You do not need to repeat this procedure
unless the tyre pressures have been
corrected in the meantime. RDC will now
operate automatically when the ignition is
switched on and therefore on each occa-
sion the car is driven.
If a puncture is identified during the
initialising process, the tyre in ques-
tion is shown in red in the control display.
<
To avoid starting initialisation
Select and confirm to return to the
menu "Settings".
Status display in control display
The system status is indicated by the
colour of the tyres.
RDC is aware that the tyre pressure
changes when the vehicle is being driven.
The tyre pressure only needs to be
changed when the RDC indicates this by
using the appropriate colour.
Green
The tyre pressure corresponds to the
learned reference pressure.
Yellow
The tyre pressure has fallen too low over
the course of time (this is normal on every
tyre).
This is to remind you that the tyre pressure
should be corrected to the specified values
again as soon as possible.
Red
Loss of pressure in the tyre indicated.
When this occurs, slow down to a stop
immediately, avoiding harsh braking and
steering manoeuvres.
Black
The system is being initialised.
This learning process takes a few minutes;
only then can the RDC identify and report a
puncture.
If there is a loss of tyre pressure
If the tyre pressure has dropped too far in
the course of time, as is quite normal on
any tyre, the indicator light symbol in the
Check Control comes on yellow and a
message appears.
This is to remind you that the tyre pressure
should be corrected to the specified values
again as soon as possible.
Observe the supplementary information in
the control display.
If you are asked to check tyre pres-
sures shortly after correcting them,
the corrected pressure values were not
plausible. Please check the tyre pressures
again and correct them to the values spec-
ified in the tyre pressure table. After this,
re-initialise the system.
<
In event of a tyre defect
If there is a puncture in a tyre and its pres-
sure has fallen, the indicator light symbol in
the Check Control comes on red and a
message appears. A gong signal is also
heard.
When this occurs, slow down to a stop
immediately, avoiding harsh braking and
