Adjusting head restraint angle: swing
forwards or back.
Adjusting side sections
Fold the side sections of the head
restraint's front piece forward to provide
greater lateral support in the rest position.
Front head restraint, active
*
The front seats are equipped with an active
head restraint.
The active head restraints are triggered off
in the event of a rear-end collision of suffi-
cient severity.
Note the following instructions in
order to ensure that the protective
function of the active head restraints is not
adversely affected or personal safety
restricted.

The head restraint should be aligned
with its centre at approximately ear level

Do not fit any covers on the seats or
head restraints
>
Do not suspend any objects such as
coat hangers from the head restraints or fit
any accessories to the seats or head
restraints.

Rear seats
Adjusting mechanically

Upwards: pull

Adjusting centre head restraint
Pull out retracted head restraint until it
engages before carrying a passenger
on the centre rear seat. Failure to extend
the head restraint reduces the occupant's
passive safety, and may constitute an
infringement of the law in certain coun-
tries.

Adjusting electrically

The outer head restraints are
extended automatically as soon as
the rear seat detects an occupant.

Ensure that the space above the head
restraints is clear, otherwise persons
could be injured or objects damaged when
the head restraints are extended.
