Mobile Service (Emergency
Service)
The BMW Group's Mobile Service (Emer-
gency Service) is there to assist you round
the clock in the event of a breakdown,
including at weekends and on public holi-
days.
The telephone numbers of the Mobile
Service control centre for your home
country are in the Service Contact
brochure.
Select "BMW Assist" if you have registered
for this information service, see page 257.
Warning triangle

The warning triangle is conveniently
located on the inside of the luggage
compartment lid, in the toolkit holder.
Please note that you may be required
by law to carry a warning triangle in
the car.

First aid pouch
*
The first aid pouch is likewise located in the
toolkit holder.
Certain items in the first aid pouch
have a limited useful life. Check the
expiry dates of the various items regularly
and renew them in good time: replace-
ments are available in any chemists.
Comply with legal requirements
concerning the need to carry a first aid kit in
the car.

Starting with a flat battery
Do not use the spray products sold as
starting aids.
If the car's own battery is flat, your BMW's
engine can be started by using two jump
cables from another vehicle's battery. In
the same way, you can help another car to
start. Use only cables with fully insulated
battery post clips.
Do not touch any electrically live parts
when the engine is running, or a fatal
accident may occur. Do not depart from the
procedure described below, otherwise
personal injury could result or one or both
vehicles be damaged.

1. The other vehicle's battery must have a
voltage of 12 V. This should be printed on
the battery label
2. Switch off the engine of the donor
vehicle and also any consumers in both
