3. Check:
• Brake fluid reservoir “1”
• Brake fluid reservoir diaphragm holder “2”
Cracks/damage → Replace.
• Brake fluid reservoir diaphragm “3”
Damage/wear → Replace.
4. Check:
• Brake hose
• Brake fluid reservoir hose
Cracks/damage → Replace.

• Before installation, all internal brake com-
ponents should be cleaned and lubricated
with clean or new brake fluid.
• Never use solvents on internal brake com-
ponents.
1. Install:
• Brake master cylinder kit

INSTALLING THE REAR BRAKE MASTER
CYLINDER
1. Install:
• Rear brake hose/lead guide “1”
• Rear brake hose/lead holder “2”
TIP
• Fit the projection “a” on the rear brake
hose/lead guide into the hole “b” in the swing-
arm.
• Make sure that the projection “c” on the rear
brake hose/lead holder contacts the swingarm.
2. Install:
• Brake hose gaskets
• Brake hose (rear brake master cylinder to hy-
draulic unit)
• Brake hose union bolt
• Brake fluid reservoir hose
WARNING

Proper brake hose routing is essential to in-
sure safe vehicle operation.
NOTICE
ECA14160
When installing the brake hose onto the
brake master cylinder, make sure the brake
pipe touches the projection “a” as shown.
