REMOVING THE CLUTCH
1. Remove:
• Clutch cover “1”
•Gasket
Loosen each bolt 1/4 of a turn at a time, in stag-
es and in a crisscross pattern. After all of the
bolts are fully loosened, remove them.
2. Remove:
• Compression spring bolts “1”
• Compression springs
• Pressure plate “2”
• Pull rod “3”
Loosen the compression spring bolts in stages
and in a crisscross pattern.
3. Remove:
• Friction plates 1
• Clutch plates
• Friction plates 2
4. Straighten the clutch boss nut rib “a”.
5. Loosen:
• Clutch boss nut “1”
While holding the clutch boss “2” with the univer-
sal clutch holder “3”, loosen the clutch boss nut.
6. Remove:
• Spacer “1”
• Bearing “2”
• Clutch housing “3”

a. Remove the spacer and bearing.
b. Remove the oil pump drive chain “4” from the
oil pump driven sprocket “a”, and then re-
move the clutch housing.
