Bucket drift down test:
Pretest instructions:
* Operator in seat
* Service/Run switch in “RUN” position
* Seat belt fastened
* Ignition switch in the “ON” position
* Engine running half throttle, 1500 RPM

Bucket stopped midrange
should hold in position with no
visual movement
YES
NO
System OK
Check control valve spool for centering, if OK go to
next step.

Check for leaking packing on cylinders, if OK go to
next step.

Check boom circuit relief valve, if OK go to next
step.
4
Check control valve for leakage.
5
Check O ring and backup washer on front and rear
plug in control valve.
Spool lock solenoid test:
Pretest instructions:
* Operator in seat
* Service/Run switch in “RUN” position
* Seat belt fastened
* Ignition switch in the “ON” position

TEST RESULT PROBABLE CAUSE AND CORRECTION

Battery voltage at solenoid
YES
NO
System OK, go to step 5.
Check seat belt operation, if OK go to next step.

Check wires to the solenoid valves for open circuit,
if OK go to next step.

Check EIC board operation, if OK go to next step.
4
Check EIC board operation, if not OK refer to
ELECTRICAL SECTION of the SERVICE
MANUAL.
5
Remove solenoid coil and check operation, if OK
go to next step.
6
Check control valve spools for centering, binding,
and binding between solenoid and block, if OK
replace solenoid valve.
