PISTON AND PISTON RINGS
Disassembly
1. Remove piston rings, 1, using a piston ring tool.
2. Remove the retaining ring and remove the piston
pin, 2.

Inspection
Piston
If the outer surface of the piston is excessively
damaged (cracked, scored, burning, etc.), replace.
Piston Skirt
Check the larger diameter of the piston skirt 0.40″ (10
mm from bottom), and check diameter (thrust
direction) of the cylinder. Calculate the clearance
between the cylinder and piston. If this clearance is
more than allowable, or piston diameter is less than
the allowable limit, replace the piston.
