Starter Idle Gear
Inspect the starter idle gear No.1 (1) and No.2 (2) for
wear or damage. If any damage is found, replace it with
a new one.
Starter Button Inspection

Inspect the starter button in the following procedures:
1) Remove the left inner fender. Refer to “Exterior Parts
Removal and Installation in Section 9D (Page 9D-
3)”.
2) Disconnect the handlebar switch coupler (1)
(Yellow).
3) Measure the voltage between Y/G and O lead wires.
Special tool
: 09900–25008 (Multi-circuit tester set)
Tester knob indication
Diode test ( )
NOTE
If the tester reads 1.4 V and below when the
tester probes are not connected, replace its
battery.
