1.5.1 Removing
Note
The toothed belt may only be adjusted on cold engines, as the
indicator position on the tensioning element varies depending
on the engine temperature.
Caution
When doing any repair work, pay attention to the following
due to the cramped conditions:
â—† Route all the various lines (e.g. for fuel, hydraulics, cool-
ant and refrigerant, brake fluid and vacuum) and electri-
cal wiring in their original positions.
â—† Ensure that there is sufficient clearance to all moving or
hot components.
– Remove any relevant lines and hoses.
– If fitted, remove engine bracket ⇒ Page 150.
– Open clips -arrows- and remove timing belt guard.
– Remove poly V-belt.
– Remove vibration damper.
