â—† Disassembling individual common high-pressure accumula-
tor components is not permitted.
â—† The components should be replaced as complete units if
faulty.
â—† Never attempt to bleed the common high-pressure accumu-
lator system by loosening high-pressure components after
starting the engine.
â—† Do not carry out any installation work on common high-pres-
sure accumulator system whilst engine is running.
â—† In particular, do not open or release high-pressure lines and
electrical connectors.
â—† All cable ties which were opened or cut open during removal
must be replaced in same position during installation.
â—† When the fuel system is open: do not work with compressed
air if this can be avoided. Do not move vehicle/machine un-
less absolutely necessary.
â—† Also ensure that no diesel fuel comes into contact with the
coolant hoses. Should this occur, the hoses must be cleaned
immediately. Damaged hoses must be renewed.
1.2 To avoid any risk of injuries to persons
and/or the destruction of the injection
and glow plug system, the following
must be noted
â—† Persons wearing a pacemaker should not lean over the en-
gine compartment while the engine is running, as the injec-
tors use high voltage pulses.
â—† It must be ensured that no fuel lines are open when the en-
gine is running.
â—† Always switch off the ignition before connecting or discon-
necting injection and glow plug system wiring or tester ca-
bles.
â—† Always switch off ignition before cleaning engine.
â—† The battery should only be disconnected and reconnected
with ignition switched off.
â—† Certain tests may lead to a fault being detected by the con-
trol unit and stored. Therefore, after completing all checks
and repairs, the event memory must be read and cleared as
necessary.
